Summary: |
“Speedy” began life as a 1986 VW GTI (A2) with an 8 valve engine and air conditioning. Prior to being prepped as our 3rd rally car it was prepared for Michael Magozzi by Douglas Davenport Racing and run at Ojibwe in 1999. Purchased by J.B. in July 2000 as backup to “Tuffy”. In the fall of 2000 and winter of 2001 it was torn down to a bare shell and rebuilt with cage upgrades, a new engine, transmission, suspension, brakes and many other “extras”. “Speedy’s” debut was at STPR in 2001. |
